GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT OUR TOUR

Join us for an absolutely Ord-some day in the East Kimberley, cruising the mighty Ord River and then sipping bubbly while the sun sets over Lake Argyle.

The fun begins at 9am when you’re collected from your Kununurra accommodation and whisked away to the Marina to begin your Ord River (Lake Kununurra) cruise. This river system boasts stunning scenery, gorgeous gorges and a myriad of bird and marine life. Keep your camera handy as you may get some happy snaps of some happy snappers! The Ord’s most famous resident is the freshwater croc and, if we’re lucky, we’ll spot a few. Continuing upriver, we’ll anchor at a riverside picnic area and feast on a mouth-watering buffet lunch.

We’ll then take an exhilarating cruise as we navigate the narrow, fast flowing sections to the Ord Top Down. Boarding the coach, cross the dam wall enroute to Lake Argyle village and the historic Durack Homestead Museum.

The day just keeps getting better as we board our next boat and head out to sea – an inland sea, that is! At full capacity, Lake Argyle is 21 times the size of Sydney Harbour and is known as an inland sea. We’ll cruise through ‘the Heads’ and enter the northern end of Lake Argyle, meeting our resident wildlife along the way. Learn the amazing history of this magnificent lake before settling in for a swim and some complimentary nibbles, accompanied by beer or bubbly. As the sun sets and the sky turns orange, we’ll raise our glasses to an unforgettable day.

The coach will drop you back to your Kununurra accommodation at around 7pm.

Includes: Complimentary lunch, afternoon tea and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Average Duration: 10 hours

Note: We specialise in observing wildlife, but due to the nature of wild animals it cannot be guaranteed you will see all that is described in our services.

The Durack Homestead Museum is closed between October-April.
